The NAmazing Adventure!

Welcome to my stop on the NAmazing Adventure, a blog hop featuring over 60 New Adult authors, and prize packs that include ARCs, signed books, gift cards, swag, and more! If you're not sure what the NAmazing Adventure is, please click here to start from the beginning and read the complete rules on the NA Alley website. Now let's get this journey on the road!

I'd like to introduce you guys to my NA contemporary romance Addicted to You.

When twenty-one-year-old Leah Carter's latest one night stand burglarizes her apartment, her roommate forces her to attend therapy for sex addicts. Leah insists she isn't a sex addict; she just doesn't do relationships. After all, sooner or later, everyone lets you down.

At first, the group sessions are little more than an education on how to be promiscuous. Until she meets the newest addict—blue eyes, killer body, and a smile that tempts relapse.

Psychology student Will McLean is posing as a fellow addict while researching a case study on unusual addictions. But the more he learns about Leah, the more certain he is that his desire to break through her walls and unearth her secrets has nothing to do with his assignment.

As the uncertainties spike alongside the sexual tension, the only thing Leah knows for sure is that falling in love would be disastrous. Too bad love might be one addiction she can't kick.

Got that jotted down in your quest scroll?

Great, because you’ll need it for the quiz at the end of this quest! And remember, you must complete ALL SIX quizzes to be eligible for a prize pack.

SeNsAtional Summer Tour featuring Melanie Harlow! (with giveaway!)

Today, I'm hosting Melanie Harlow, author of SPEAK EASY. This book sounds AMAZING, and I can't wait to read it! Plus, Melanie is hilarious. Take it away, Melanie!

For me, nothing beats a good sexy book.

So I felt tons of pressure writing the sexy scenes of SPEAK EASY because I know how much I look forward to them as a reader.

I slow down and savor every word. I fan myself. Then I reread immediately, just to make sure there was no luscious little detail I might have missed.

But when I went to write those kinds of scenes, I realized had a problem...

SPEAK EASY is set in 1923. Flappers! Gangsters! Illegal booze! Hot Jazz!

Sexy, right?

Sure, until you get to a love scene where your characters have to undress each other. My main character, Tiny, and her bad boy, Enzo, were hot and heavy when he undid the side zipper of her dress (slowwwwly, of course).

"Well, wait a minute," the History Major in me said. "Are you sure that dress would've had a zipper?"

I looked it up, and of course the HM was right--zippers were not common until the late 1920s. "Well, they existed, anyway," I thought. "I'm using it."

But the problem was, they didn't call them zippers--they called them lockers.

OK, fine. He undid her locker.

Hmph. Just doesn't have the same effect, am I wrong?

Even when I did overcome that little issue, then I had to think about what they were wearing underneath their clothes. In my head, my bad boy looks like this in his underwear:

However, in all the ads I could find, 1920s men's underwear looks like this:

Or this:

Can you imagine? She slipped her hand inside his "Drop Seat" union suit.

Ummm, no.

So, be warned, nitpicky readers—if it meant ruining my sexy scene with ugly underwear, occasionally I told my inner HM to buzz off.

Someday, someone on Goodreads will say, "She sucks at research! She has her character in undergarments that didn't exist in 1923!"

I hope you will join me in directing them to this post. If they choose Munsingwear over Hugo Boss, I'll refund their money.

Thanks, Colina, for having me!

Speak Easy is out July 22, 2013.

Teaser #4: Addicted to You... about different kinds of love. Romantic love. Family love. And love between friends.

“This has never happened in the ten years I’ve known you.”

“It’s never happened, full stop,” Leah said. Helena, on the other hand, had had enough boyfriends for the both of them, and she’d been in love no less than five times in the years since they’d met.

To Helena’s benefit, she had dumped one of them after he called Leah some choice words and demanded Helena choose between the two of them. She had been absolutely certain Helena would choose him because who in their right mind would pick her over the guy they claimed to love? She’d been shocked when Helena showed up at her parents’ estate and casually asked if she could sleep over before crying all over Leah’s bed. Leah might have cried too, but she’d deny it if Helena ever brought it up.

One more week! Yay! ♥

Keep your eyes peeled this Friday, when a new giveaway will open up to win copies of Addicted to You. Then come back Monday for the start of the blog tour! Woo!
